Transparency at North Central College

Although it is an independent private institution of higher learning and has been since its founding in 1861 North Central College views itself as a public trust. Consistent with a mission commitment to leadership, ethics and values, the College seeks transparency in its finances, actions, policies, experiences and results, posting on its website annual audited financial statements and a wide variety of data allowing North Central's performance to be viewed in a comparative context.

Founded in 1861, North Central College is an independent, comprehensive college of the liberal arts and sciences that offers more than 65 undergraduate majors and six graduate programs. North Central provides a rigorous, student-centered education and fosters a diverse, inclusive and globally engaged community that prepares students for action and leadership in a complex world.

Accreditation and Affiliations

Accreditation is a quality assurance process that involves an evaluation of a college or program within a college by an external organization to determine if applicable standards are met. North Central College, as an institution, is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is also affiliated with the United Methodist church. In addition, many academic programs meet the rigorous standards necessary to be accredited by other outside organizations.
